How to serve notice to your landlord and/or schedule a tenancy to end in myRent

If eligible you can serve a notice to your landlord to end tenancy or schedule the tenancy to end if you have already served notice by following the steps below:

Step 1: Go into your tenancy through your dashboard

Step 2: Go to Settings

Step 3: select End tenancy

Step 4: select Serve end tenancy notice

Step 5: Check through the guide about ending the tenancy and then select the reason and the date before continuing through to e-signing and generating the document.

(The date will default to take into account the minimum notice required)

Step 6: Go to your Tenancy overview and you will see the timeline updated with your end date.

The rents page of the tenancy will also get updated and display the final rent amount. If your tenancy is ending during the rent period instead of the last day of a rent period then there will be a prorated rent amount for the final week.

It's a good idea to touch base with your landlord once notice has been served to check they have received this and to discuss the next steps.

If the tenancy is already ending due to prior notice being served or mutual agreement, you can reach out to your landlord through the messages section of the tenancy to ask them to schedule the myRent tenancy to end to reflect the applicable notice or agreement.
