How to change the start date of the tenancy

Once the tenancy is set up on myRent, you can change the start date of the tenancy. There are two ways to do it.

If no tenancy agreement created / uploaded

If you are yet to create a tenancy agreement for your tenancy, please follow these steps to make the change.

Step 1: Go to the Tenancy agreement section of your tenancy.

Step 2: Select "Edit Agreement"

Step 3: Adjust the start date (and any other fields), then press Save.

If you have already created/uploaded the tenancy agreement

Step 1: Go to the Tenancy agreement section of your tenancy.

Step 2: Select "Edit Agreement"

Step 3: Under the "Update current agreement" section, choose Void tenancy agreement and create new draft.

Step 4: You'll see a pop-up confirming this action. Please click Yes. This will remove the draft you've created but not delete all the information you've entered to generate the agreement. Once the start date is updated, it would be easy to finalise and sign a new tenancy agreement.

Step 5 Select "Continue your agreement"

Step 6 Adjust the start date (and any other fields), then press Save With information updated, you can now generate a new draft.

Please note that if you and your tenants fully signed the tenancy agreement, and the start date had to be changed upon mutual agreement later, you can create an amendment instead. You will need something in writing that is dated and shows your and your tenants' names and signatures acknowledging the change.

If doing an amendment, please let us know and we can update the start date for you.
