Designed by the Building Biologist/Architect owner with a focus on healthy living, this spacious, sunny and private Chalet is the first of its kind in NZ: a toxinfree solid timber home right from the European Alps, slowing your heart rate and comforting your body/mind. The perfect place to relax, rejuvenate and connect with nature.
Chalet Pura Vida was completed in 2023. The walls are of interlocking timbers and no toxic glues, foams or chemicals have been used. In an all natural solid timber house your heart rate will slow down and save your heart about one hour of work a night (scientifically proven). The deep sleep phases are longer, the nervous system and immune system get strengthened. Staying at Chalet Pura Vida is like immersing yourself in the forest, you’ll get the same benefit without having to compromise on comfort.
The Chalet has a 60m2 floor area plus a 15m2 sunny wooden deck. It has a seperate bedroom with amazing views of the mountains from the luxurious king size bed. The bathroom is opposite across the hallway. The open main space is comprised of a fully equipped open plan kitchen, dining and living area. A steep ladder leads up to a low mezzanine with a queen bed. Please note that the use of the mezzanine is at your own risk. If there is more then 2 people then the rent goes up to $1500/week.
The wooden deck has amazing views to lake Wanaka and the surrounding mountains.
The Chalet behaves much like a passive house, but being diffusion open for better air quality. It has solid 340mm sick solid timber outside walls and European triple glazed wooden windows. It is cosy and warm and has a wood burner as well if needed.
It’s a quiet neighbourhood comprised of large sections only. Recreational walking tracks to the top of Mt Iron are accessible from the bottom of the drive. It’s also close to lake and river tracks.
