What happens when your myRent management subscription goes read-only?

28 August 2024

At myRent, we understand that life can get busy, and sometimes managing your subscription might slip through the cracks. Whether your management subscription lapses due to an expired trial, a failed payment, or simply because you’re not ready to continue, we want you to know exactly what happens when your account goes into read-only mode.

What Does Read-Only Mode Mean?

When your myRent management subscription becomes read-only, it means that while you can still access all the important information and documents related to your tenancies, you won’t be able to actively manage them through our platform. Essentially, your account is preserved, but certain functionalities will be restricted until the subscription is renewed.

Here’s what you can expect:

1. Bank Feeds Will Be Disconnected

If you’ve set up bank feeds to automatically track and reconcile rent payments, these will be disconnected. Without an active subscription, we won’t be able to pull in transaction data from your bank.

It’s a good idea to manually monitor your rent payments or reconnect the feeds once you renew your subscription.

2. Hands-Free Rent Collection Will Stop

One of the significant benefits of myRent is the Hands-Free Rent Collection feature, where we handle everything from collecting rent to reconciling payments and even chasing late payments. When your account goes read-only, this service will cease. You’ll need to notify your tenants to resume paying rent directly to your bank account. It’s crucial to provide them with your alternative bank details and a way to contact you directly for any tenancy-related queries.

3. Access to Your Data and Documents

Even in read-only mode, your data remains safe and accessible. You’ll still have access to your tenancy documents, bond lodgement forms, rent records and historical conversations with your tenants. You can download these documents anytime, ensuring that you have all the necessary records at your fingertips.

4. No Loss of Information

Rest assured, none of your information is lost when your account goes read-only. All your historical data, including payment records, maintenance requests, and tenant interactions, remain available for you to review. So, if you decide to reactivate your subscription, you can pick up right where you left off.

5. Easy Reactivation

If you decide to continue using myRent management, reactivating your subscription is easy. Simply log in to your dashboard, update your payment details, and your account will be fully operational again, with all your data and settings intact.
